Our Team

Antonio Baldassarra, Principal

B.Arch, OAA, MRAIC

In 1986, Tony founded Baldassarra Architects, giving him the opportunity to put into practice his philosophy of architecture as functional art. Today, Baldassarra Architects continues to thrive through his commitment to design excellence and exemplary service. Tony has established a loyal clientele and has made a mark on the architectural community.

Tony continues to do what he feels is most important – provide a service that is second to none, deliver building designs that add architectural value to our communities and surpass his clients’ expectations.

He is proud to lead his team of highly-talented, creative, and enthusiastic individuals through everyday challenges, en route to continuously achieving the firm's goals.

Matthew Baldassarra, Vice President

MBA, M. Eng., P. Eng.

Matthew joined the firm in 2012 bringing with him a strong academic foundation and years of experience in the building restoration and building science industry. Matthew holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the University of Waterloo, and a master’s degree in engineering from the University of Toronto specializing in building science, restoration, and sustainable design. Matthew also holds a master’s degree in business administration from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto.

In addition to his involvement in the management and successful delivery of projects, Matthew focuses on business development and the strategic growth of the firm. 

When not in the office, Matthew enjoys time with his wife and four beautiful children at the cottage or exploring Toronto.

Michael Baldassarra, Director of Operations, Organizational Resources, & Marketing

P.Eng., MBA

Michael joined the firm in 2017, bringing to the team a wealth of construction knowledge and project management experience after years of working in the industry. Michael has spent time working on the design, execution, commissioning and closeout of multiple complex projects, including large-scale P3 style construction projects in the Toronto area.

Aside from managing clients and projects, Michael plays a critical role in shaping and managing the firm’s operational, organizational, and marketing strategies.

Michael holds a Bachelor’s Degree in engineering from the University of Waterloo, and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Real Estate & Infrastructure from the Schulich School of Business at York University.

Brian Martin, Associate

B. Tech., LEED AP BD + C

Since joining the firm in 1996, Brian has demonstrated his abilities through all project stages, from design to implementation. As an associate, Brian takes the lead role in prominent projects, and is essential to the day-to-day success of the firm. Brian provides to the team a vast knowledge of sustainability regarding design and construction, an important element in all of the firm’s work.

John Higgins, Associate

B.Sc., Arch. Tech.

John is an experienced architectural technologist and computer network administrator with over 25 years in the architectural industry. He joined Baldassarra Architects in 1989 and has been an associate since 2001.

In addition to his drafting responsibilities, John is responsible for managing Baldassarra Architect’s information systems, including AutoCAD and the inter-office network. Thanks to his extensive architectural background and technical expertise, John brings unique insight to a wide variety of building projects.

Dwayne Warren, Associate

B.Arch.Sci.

Dwayne joined the team in 2007 and is a passionate designer who believes in promoting progressive architecture through visually pleasing designs in order to improve the experience of its outcome. He has been instrumental on a number of the firm’s notable projects and proposals, where he is able to steer design decisions to reflect the reality of the client’s necessities.    

Dwayne’s commitment to the studio’s ongoing success is recognized by way of his leadership over our students, interns and young designers. His steadfast conviction in the power of architecture to instrument dynamic change has guided him to be detail oriented with the ability to transform complex conceptions into minimal, yet elegant results.   

Dwayne delights in the opportunity to advance the firm’s reputation in the architectural community and eagerly continues to be a student of his craft under the tutelage of the firm’s founding principal.

Junior Wilson, Associate

OAA, B. Tech, M. Arch, LEED AP BD + C

During his 15+ years of design development and project management experience in a variety of sectors, Junior has amassed a wealth of construction knowledge. Since joining the firm, he has managed some of the firm’s largest and most prestigious projects. 

He holds a Bachelor of Technology from Ryerson University and a Master of Architecture from the University of Calgary.  As an Associate, he takes pride in mentoring and supporting the professional development of the office staff and continues to serve as a valuable source of technical knowledge for the Baldassarra Architects team.
